For this project, we collaborated with Iki, owner of The Little Shop of Flowers, a flower shop in Tokyo. Rooted in the Japanese perspective that seasonality, and the people who grow each flower, are essential, Iki sees sharing each season as the essence of being a florist. She is known for her rare approach of combining traditional Japanese flowers with Western varieties to create a quiet dialogue between the two.Iki focusses on creating bouquets and ikebana arrangements, carefully composed, where each stem is placed with intention. She also creates natural fabric dyes from leftover flowers.
With this collection, we wanted to evoke that same feeling using our artificial stems. The difference is that here, the beauty does not lie in transience, but in something lasting, an enduring elegance. That’s why we call this collection Ikibana.
